Super Bowl 2018 movie trailers: What to expect, from Avengers: Infinity War and The Incredibles 2 to Cloverfield 3

All the blockbusters viewers will likely see glimpses of this weekend

This Sunday (4 February) sees the New England Patriots take on Philadelphia Eagles in Minneapolis, Minnesota for Super Bowl 52.

Considering the sporting event's status as one of the most watched events in the world, it's understandable that film studios view the opportunity as a prime spot to showcase a range of their upcoming biggest films with the release of tie-in TV spots becoming as synonymous with the match as touchdowns and kiss cams.

According to Deadline, studios are shelling out around $5m for a 30-second trailer

Below are all the films viewers can expect to see glimpses of this weekend (bad news for Star Wars fans; a first look at Han Solo film, Solo, will have to wait).

God Particle

AKA Cloverfield 3. Deadline reports that this weekend will see the world's first glimpse at the new film which is rumoured to have been acquired from Paramount by Netflix. Directed by Julius Onah from a script by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung, the JJ Abrams-produced film follows a group of astronauts aboard an international space station who must fight for their survival after making a shocking discovery. It stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Elizabeth Debicki, Ziyi Zhang, Daniel Brühl and Chris O'Dowd.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

This year's match will reportedly see multiple looks at Jurassic World sequel Fallen Kingdom from director J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls) which sees Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to the dinosaur-riddled island in a bid to save the creatures from an erupting volcano. Skyscraper

Universal will use the opportunity to show off the studio's latest Dwayne Johnson offering, mysterious action film Skyscraper. With the plot being kept under wraps (it's described as "a hostage-action-thriller set in China"), this will be the world' very first tease of what looks to be 2018's answer to San Andreas as directed by Dodgeball's Rawson Marshall Thurber.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout

With the promotion of forthcoming Mission: Impossible film Fallout in full swing, Super Bowl will see a further glimpse at the new sequel which sees Tom Cruise return as Ethan Hunt for the sixth time.

A Quiet Place

Horror will rear its head in the spot for this supernatural chiller directed by John Krasinski following a family forced to communicate in sign language to hide from an evil attracted to sound. Emily Blunt stars.

Avengers: Infinity War

Marvel is no stranger to dropping new footage of their films at the Super Bowl, and 2018 looks to be no different with at least two spots set to air - one for 30 seconds, the other for 45. It's NO Stretch to assume one of these will be Avengers: Infinity War which apparently has a scene featuring over 40 superheroes.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

A late addition to the party could be this sequel - which sees Evangeline Lilly'a Hope van Dyne promoted to lead slongside paul Rudd - following the first teaser which dropped earlier today (30 January)

The Incredibles 2

The Incredible clan may be attending the Super Bowl in the form of a brand new look at the Disney/Pixar sequel from director Brad Bird which sees Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson and Sarah Vowell return to the voice roles they made famous in 2004.

Black Panther

Fans will be treated to one final look at the groundbreaking new Marvel film from director Ryan Coogler following the initial reactions which have unanimously praised the film.
