Before the advent of the Internet, film reviews were primarily written only by those privileged few film critics who worked for publications.
However, thanks to the likes of IMDB and Taste, anyone can write a review of a film that can be read by anyone with access to the World Wide Web.
Topping the list is The Room. Not the critically acclaimed, Brie Larson-starring film released last year, but the 2003 Tommy Wiseau-produced/directed/starring film that has since developed a cult following. A film about the making of The Room is set for release later this year, starring James Franco, Seth Rogan, and Zac Efron.
In second is the recent Ghostbusters reboot, notable for featuring an all-female cast. Third is Suicide Squad, DC’s latest superhero film which received negative reviews from critics but many fans loved (Batman v Superman falls into sixth place).
Other notable inclusions on the list are Birdman (the Oscar-winning, Michael Keaton-starring satirical comedy), Boyhood (another Oscar winner), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Napoleon Dynamite.
