The Greatest Showman exclusive: Go behind the scenes on the next big musical spectacular
Hugh Jackman stars as P.T. Barnum alongside the likes of Zac Efron, Zendaya, and Michelle Williams
La La Land may have promised to kick off a musical revival last year, but it's 20th Century Fox's The Greatest Showman that hopes to continue that trend in earnest.
With Hugh Jackman having laid to rest the adamantium claws with Logan, he's free to pursue the other major aspect of his career, already having made a name for himself as a song-and-dance man on Broadway.
He stars here as the near-mythical showman P.T. Barnum, founder of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and purveyor of several infamous hoaxes. Though the real Barnum may have only entered the circus business in his 60s, The Greatest Showman takes a little pinch of movie magic to re-imagine his beginnings as a downtrodden dreamer looking to make his mark.
Instead, the film hopes to tell a greater story of idealism, ambition, and spectacle - all the makings of classic Hollywood fare. There's a pretty all-star cast to boot, as Jackman is joined by the likes of Zac Efron, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Rebecca Ferguson.
A new series of clips looks behind the scenes at creating such a lush, magical world; you can see the first episode above, and the second episode below. The rest of the series can be watched on The Greatest Showman's Facebook page.
The film hits UK cinemas on Boxing Day.
