Fly lands on Mike Pence's head during vice presidential debate

The world of entertainment has reacted to the debate between Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence.

Harris and Pence clashed over topics including Donald Trump's taxes, foreign policy and the president's response to coronavirus, which Harris called the biggest failure ever by an American administration.

At one stage, Harris said bluntly to Pence, "I'm speaking", when he tried to interrupt her. This seemed to be a direct response to the fact that Trump kept interjecting when presidential candidate Joe Biden was speaking at their own debate last week.

One particular moment also saw a fly land on Pence's head, which prompted a lot of social media posts from celebrities watching along at home.

Find the best reactions below.

Michael Kelly, who played Doug Stamper in Netflix's political drama House of Cards, wrote: "Round one: Sen Kamala Harris #CoronaVirusTaskForce and this administration failed the American people. Favourite line:  #ImSpeaking #BidenHarris2020."

Referencing the fly landing on Pence’s hair, Chance the Rapper wrote: "ITS A FLY ON HIS HEAD."

Oscar-winner Regina King, who recently also won an Emmy for her role in Watchmen, wrote "flies are attracted to" followed by a poo emoji.

Meanwhile, author Stephen King added, "The fly knows", while actor Darren Criss (The Assassination of Gianni Versace) wrote: "I just wanna thank this fly."

Later in the debate, Star Trek actor George Takei said Pence was lying about who he said Biden would raise taxes on if he became president.

Orange is the new Black star Uzo Aduba praised Harris for sharing "her story", writing: "What an incredible journey she’s had. Felt like an honest share on where she and @JoeBiden found connection in their public service.

Not everyone commended Harris, though, with actor James Woods accusing her of "dodging every question".
