Though the reviews were pretty brutal, 2014's Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot grossed nearly $500 million at the global box office, so a sequel was nigh on inevitable.

Titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, it boasts a new director, Dave Green, who previously directed Disney's decent enough 2014 sci-fi adventure Earth to Echo.

Bay is back as a producer, joined by returning cast members Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner and Stephen Amell.

Once again, the turtles themselves are brought to life via motion-capture performances from Johnny Knoxville, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard and Noel Fisher.

Meanwhile, there are a couple of classy new additions to the cast: Laura Linney, who plays a mysterios character called Rebecca Vincent, and Portlandia's Fred Armisen, who provides the voice of the villainous Krang.

At the very least, this new trailer suggests the sequel will not be lacking in action. The always excellent Linney, meanwhile, should add some gravitas.
