It's once more into Wonderland with Tim Burton's attempt to give the children's classic a makeover for the 3D age.

The late Lewis Carroll may be spinning in his burrow over the creative licence in Alice's latest adventure, but you can't fault it for pace or casting; with star power provided by Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Johnny Depp as the not too-Mad Hatter, the film doesn't overly rely on its talented protagonist, depicted by Mia Wasikowska. It's silly, indulgent fun – and while few will yet be able to enjoy the full 3D experience at home, it's still a visual treat of the highest order.
