DVD: Salmon Fishing in the Yemen For retail & rental (Lionsgate)
It must have seemed like a good idea at the time: a scenic comedy based on a hit comic novel, with a romance between Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt at its heart.
But Lasse Hallstrom has made a stodgy, lifeless film, with almost none of the book's political satire. And it never convinces us that the titular angling project is anything other than the whim of a sheikh who should have better things to do with his country's money.
