Gal Gadot to reportedly quit Wonder Woman sequel if Brett Ratner stays on as producer

The producer faces allegations of sexual misconduct

Gal Gadot, the star of hit DC film Wonder Woman, is reportedly refusing to return for the sequel unless Warner Bros fully severs ties with producer Brett Ratner who faces multiple allegations of sexual harassment.

While previously announced that Ratner is to part ways with the studio while the accusations levied against him are investigated, Page Six reports that Gadot is refusing to star in the project should he be involved in any way.

The news would put the studio into a tough place considering Ratner's deal doesn't expire until 2018.

According to Page Six, a Warner Bros insider said: “Brett made a lot of money from the success of 'Wonder Woman,' thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie,” according to a WB insider, as reported by Page Six. “Now Gadot is saying she won't sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.”

The allegations against Ratner arrived in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal which has shone a light on a history of sexual misconduct in Hollywood with the careers of figures including Kevin Spacey and Louis C.K. seemingly left in tatters.

He is also accused of "outing" his X-Men: The Last Stand star Ellen Page at the age of 18, an allegation backed up by co-star Anna Paquin.
