Guy Pearce calls Kevin Spacey 'a handsy guy' in Seven Network interview

Guy Pearce stunned an interviewer and studio audience with an anecdote regarding his time working with disgraced actor Kevin Spacey.

The Memento star, who appeared opposite Spacey in 1997 crime thriller LA Confidential, was asked by Australian chat show host Andrew Denton about his personal experience with Spacey, who was accused of sexual misconduct by several men in the wake of the Me Too movement.

“Yeah... Tough one to talk about at the moment,“ Pearce responded on Denton's chat show, Seven. ”Amazing actor; incredible actor. Slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah. He’s a handsy guy."

"Thankfully I was 29, and not 14," he added.

The interview will be shown in full tonight (3 July) on Australian network GWN7.

Spacey was initially accused of misconduct by Anthony Rapp who alleges that the actor made sexual advances towards him as a 14-year-old when Spacey was 26.

Other actors to have spoken candidly about Spacey's behaviour in the wake of the allegations include his House of Cards co-star Joel Kinnaman and Benicio del Toro who appeared alongside the actor in 1995 film The Usual Suspects.

“It’s sad about the victims, number one, and sad about [him]," del Toro The Independent. “But the victims come first. I don’t care how talented you are. I’m sorry.”

The first film to star Spacey following the allegations against him will be released in cinemas this August.
