In Brief
Sir: Your leader on the Atlanta shootings (31 July) says, "One day, perhaps, a majority of Americans will think that an abundance of guns is self-evidently a bad thing." That majority already exists. But in our form of representative democracy, the diligent and generous triumph over the lazy and stingy, regardless of numbers. Gun control supporters are too idle and self-centered to hit the streets, harangue their politicians or contribute money to the cause.
