Latitude Festival 2016 line-up: New Order, The Maccabees and The National to headline Suffolk festival

Tickets are on sale now costing £197.50 for a full weekend pass

The Maccabees, The National and New Order have been revealed as this summer’s Latitude Festival headliners in the first line-up announcement.

The Maccabees will perform their first major festival headline set on Friday while The National’s set on Saturday will be their only UK show this year. New Order close the show with music from their 35-year career.

The three bands will play the Obelisk Arena at Henham Park in Southwold, Suffolk, from 14 to 17 July, with Beirut, Chvrches, M83, Father John Misty, John Grant, The Lumineers, Daughter, British Sea Power, Michael Kiwanuka and Laura Mvula among the other confirmed acts.

Grimes, Of Monsters and Men and Frightened Rabbit headline the BBC Radio 6 Music Stage while Circa, Improbable & Blind Summit and Gob Squad top the theatre bill.

Poetry comes courtesy of Don Paterson, John Hegley, Hollie McNish, Elaine Feinstein and Henry Normal among others.

Latitude’s theme this year will be ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ following the Europe-wide migrant crisis and protests against gentrification in Brixton and Brick Lane.
