Sir: It is sad that Susan Watkin (letter, 1 January) joins the sport of knocking the railway companies' timetable inquiries, unfairly. I used the service twice over Christmas and it was prompt and efficient. It is wrong to blame it if it is disrupted by extreme weather in Scotland, where the service is located. The weather was so bad it left thousands of people without electricity for days.
