Sir: Inured though we are to the self-serving self-deceptions of our politicians, Ron Davies sets a new standard. His entire downfall has resulted from the intrusion of his private life into his public status, yet he now protests at the intrusion of public interest into his privacy. How much longer before he gives us the explanation we are owed, so that we can leave him alone for ever? As he wants.
