Sir: Suzanne Moore's argument that Peter Mandelson should say, "Yes, I am [homosexual]", to confirm his sexual preference, like Tony Blair who "flaunts his sexual preference" by appearing in public with his wife and children ("Do yourself a favour, Peter", 30 October) lacks consistency. If Tony Blair speaks about his sexuality by appearing with his family, then so does Peter Mandelson speak about his by appearing without one.
That politicians should be pressured, in this or any other way, to publicly and explicitly discuss their sexuality is utterly shameful.
