Sir: Paul Wainwright (letter, 2 November) calls for readers to explain the difference between two cultures, in one of which a sexually inappropriately active President remains in office, while in the other a robbed Cabinet minister resigns. I would be hard put to do so, being struck only by the depressingly similar prurience shown over these events by the nations concerned.
