Letter: UK role in Europe
Sir: Seeing how well we are doing outside the single currency (the world's fifth largest economy with unemployment less than half that of France and Germany), and remembering the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, I for one am happy for Britain to occupy what Mr de Silguy calls "the slow lane".
