This Is The Kit released her fourth album Moonshine Freeze earlier this month and it's a beaut.

You can watch out the wonderful visuals for her song "Hotter Colder" off the new record, which we're premiering today on The Independent - filmed at Warleigh weir near Bath.

"My thinking was coming from a very dark murky underwater place, and James' thinking was more of a joyous fun approach," Kate Stables explains. "For him “Hotter Colder” is a happy song so we ended up kind of meeting in the middle. Me and rozi larking about, but on a rainy day in a murky river.

Check it out below:

Q&A with This Is The Kit

What are you listening to at the moment?

As per usual, lots of Richard Dawson and Beyonce. But also medieval polyphony, Rachael Dadd, Horse Lords, and Alabaster de Plume.

Where was the video filmed + is there anything about that location etc. that ties the visuals in with the music for you?

The video was filmed at Warleigh weir near Bath. I wanted it to be in a watery place as for me a lot of the song happens in a dark underwatery place.

So we the first place we tried was Warleigh weir and it fitted really well. Plus it was drumming it down with rain so that was great. (Not so great for the filming equipment, but excellent for the general sogginess that I was after)

My thinking was coming from a very dark murky underwater place, and James' thinking was more of a joyous fun approach. For him "Hotter Colder" is a happy song so we ended up kind of meeting in the middle. Me and rozi larking about, but on a rainy day in a murky river.

What are your plans for the rest of 2017?

Gigs! There's a lot of touring to do which I'm very excited about. But there's also a few projects I hope I can get started on while I'm on the road and in the gaps in between gigs. A few collaborations I hope I can shoe horn in the time for.

We'll be pretty much on tour now until Christmas, which is great. But while we trundle around I'd like to get a few writing projects on the go. Some voice only projects and some no voice instrumental compositions, and a few collaborations with friends who's work I really admire. Plenty of pans on the go to try and keep on stirring. Plus fighting for some home time to make sure I see my family enough.

Moonshine Freeze, the new album from This Is The Kit, is out now.
