Pop festival of the week: End of the Road, Larmer Tree Gardens, North Dorset

There's magic in the air at this alterna-bash, a festival founded on the belief that festivals can still be wondrous things when they veer off the beaten track and elevate brave sounds over sponsorships and same-as-every-other-year headliners.
That faith is shared by the indie label Bella Union, whose 15th anniversary will be celebrated on Friday with a line-up so lovely, you won't know where to look: Beach House, the Dirty Three, Van Dyke Parks, Midlake, John Grant, the Low Anthem, Zun Zun Egui, Fleet Foxes spin-off Poor Moon and others cover all bases from blissful to ballistic.
Saturday sees the return of harmonious US art-rockers Grizzly Bear, with soul-scorching support from Alabama Shakes and mood mavens elsewhere including Mark Lanegan, Tindersticks and the Antlers.
On Sunday, Patti Smith and the gorgeous, revitalised Grandaddy see the End off on a high: headliners to believe in at a festival on a mission to restore your faith in such things.
