Coachella 2015: 7 controversial moments including Drake grimacing at Madonna kiss
With another weekend to go, we round-up the most surprising moments from the world's most pretentious music festival so far
It’s the festival where celebrities pretend to be normal people, and then get caught out for dancing awkwardly.
But aside from Robert Pattinson trying to bust a move to Drake, there have been plenty more stand-out moments at the Californian music festival:
1) Festival-goer sparks outrage with ‘Eat, Sleep, Rape, Repeat’ t-shirt
Coachella is full of questionable fashion choices, but this T-shirt has caused the biggest stir so far in the outside world, with people on Twitter calling the man's sartorial choice a “disgrace” and a “new low”.
2) Florence Welch breaks foot leaping off stage
The British singer has returned to the limelight after a year off only to break her foot while jumping off stage. The performer has said she is “devastated” by her injury, but hopes to be “back on [her] feet” by the time Glastonbury rolls around.
3) Bieber gets kicked out of Drake concert
Justin Bieber was reportedly escorted out of the artists’ area where Drake was performing after being told it was at capacity. The 21-year-old allegedly refused to leave and was led away by security guards.
4) That Drake and Madonna Kiss
Drake set the internet alight after appearing to grimace after kissing Madge on stage. He later denied his reaction, writing on Instagram: “Don’t’ misinterpret my shock!! I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100 about that forever”.
5) Rihanna enjoys the high life
A video posted on Instagram allegedly showed Rihanna preparing a line of coke, but the Barbadian singer has furiously denied the claims, saying she was about to smoke weed instead. “Any fool could see that’s a joint that I’m basing with cigarette!”, she responded on Instagram. Duh.
6) Kendall Jenner gives the finger to Tyler, the Creator
The young member of the Kardashian clan had a simple response to Tyler, the Creator calling her out from the stage, gesturing at him to f**k off when the rapper accused her of being “cute and sh*t”.
7) Azealia Banks didn’t offend anyone
Since her breakout song “212” in 2011, Banks has become better known for arguing with fellow artists on Twitter and offending “fat white Americans”. Amazingly, she kept her opinions to herself in a slick Friday performance.
