New York City electronic duo Ratatat (or R@@@), whose next album is due out June 8, is the most blogged musical act on The Hype Machine on May 12. In second and third are Brooklyn indie pop/rock band The National and British rapper M.I.A.

Sri-Lankan born artist M.I.A. has revealed the second single off her upcoming third album, ///\Y/\ (or "MAYA"), which is due out on July 12. "XXXO," writes Pigeons and Planes (pigeonsandplanes.com), "is less of the weird, percussion-heavy, worldly rapping and more of the lazy Paper Planes style singing...mixed with pure pop over nicely balanced production from Blaqstarr."

New to the week's top ten is British band Male Bonding, as bloggers share the single "Franklin" from the group's debut album. Pot Tarts Suck Toasted (poptartssucktoasted.com) writes, "On their debut full length [recording], Nothing Hurts, the band are ripping through songs and starting new ones before you even realize what you've just heard. All of the onus is put on fast songs that come and go and are only remembered for the catchy riff or chorus that the tunes are centered around. It is perfectly fitting of the whole punk/lo-fi/indie rock sound that is oh so popular right now."
