Blue Ivy shows Beyonce and Jay Z who's boss shushing them at the Grammys 2018

Blue Ivy’s performance at the Grammys proves having Beyoncé and Jay Z for parents does not necessarily absolve you of feelings of embarrassment.

The six-year-old, who is the couple’s first child, gently scolded her parents and pushed them to quieten down while Camila Cabello gave a moving speech on immigration.

Footage from the 60th annual Grammy awards ceremony on Sunday night showed Blue putting up her hand and gesturing towards her mother and father in a bid to get them to make less noise.

The couple, who recently welcomed twins Sir and Rumi, looked a little puzzled as their daughter bowed her head and made nonchalantly serious hand gestures.

People back home on social media could not get enough of the high profile tot’s response, with one quipping: “Blue let them know who’s really in charge here”.

“Blue Ivy Carter is here to let you know that she's underwhelmed. A baby Legend!” added another.

It was something of a dispiriting night for Jay-Z who left empty-handed despite being nominated for eight accolades, including the Album, Song and Record of the Year which were all won by Bruno Mars.

Kendrick Lamar, who managed to beat Jay Z in the Rap Album category, heaped praise on him during his speech and went so far as to champion his presidency.

He said: “Jay for President! I got a lot of guys in this building that I idolise to this day: Jay-Z, Nas, Puff. These guys showed me the game through their lyrics from close and from afar.”

Beyoncé revealed she was pregnant with Blue at the MTV music awards in 2011. Her appearance helped that year's awards become the most-watched broadcast in MTV history, attracting 12.4 million viewers.

What's more, the pop megastar’s announcement was listed in the Guinness World Records for ”most tweets per second recorded for a single event" on Twitter. It received a staggering 8,868 tweets per second.
