Bruce Springsteen calls out wrong city at gig, crowd surfs in apology

Fans believe The Boss' heavy touring schedule is to blame

With a heavy touring schedule, it's a wonder Bruce Springsteen doesn't get confused with which city he's performing in more often.

One such moment occurred yesterday, however, when performing in Cleveland, Ohio as the musician momentarily thought he was in Pittsburgh.

"Party noise Pittsburgh!" he shouted before the pro corrected himself mere seconds later.

"And Cleveland too," he added to huge laughs from the assembled crowd before kickstarting a performance of "Sherry Darling."

Springsteen more than made up for the error later on in the show as he proceeded to crowd surf with fans, apparently even taking a selfie with one.

Billboard reports that the confusion could possibly have stemmed from the presence of Pittsburgh musician Joe Gruschecky, Springsteen's longtime friend who joined the E Street Band for a rendition of "Born to Run."

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are bringing their River Tour to UK stadiums; tickets went on sale this morning.

Going by this classic moment from the Super Bowl halftime show in 2009, it's clear that nobody can recover from a gaffe better than The Boss.
