Cardi B postponed a concert in Indianapolis less than an hour before the show was due to begin on Tuesday night after receiving a mysterious “security threat”.

The Bankers Life Fieldhouse concert was called off due to an “unverified threat to the artist”, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

“There is no immediate threat to public safety, this is not an active incident,” read the statement.

The rapper posted a video of herself on Twitter at the venue “rehearsing a new move I been excited to do on my show” and apologised to fans, saying: “My safety and your safety first.”

Cardi B’s concert, with special guests Kevin Gates and Saweetie, has been postponed to 11 September. All tickets for the original date will be valid, but fans can also choose to receive a refund.
