Coldplay are reportedly lining up a surprising guest for their Glastonbury set: Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb.

Chris Martin's band will close this year's festival with a Sunday evening headline set on the hallowed Pyramid Stage. It will be the fourth time they've performed at the Somerset festival following previous appearances in 2002, 2005 and 2011.

According to The Sun, a Glastonbury 'source' has now revealed: "Chris was delighted to be asked to headline again but told Michael [Eavis] he wanted to bring some friends along, too. Barry had already been asked to perform but didn't have time to perfect a full set with his touring band. As soon as Chris got wind he asked Barry if he wanted to come on stage with Coldplay."

The 'source' apparently added: "He agreed straight away. The band are putting a Bee Gees medley together cramming in all of their classics. It's going to be really special. There are likely to be a few other surprise guests on the night too, which are still to be decided."

Obviously this has yet to be confirmed by either Coldplay or Barry Gibb, the last surviving member of the Bee Gees, but Martin's band showed their willingness to share the stage at this year's Super Bowl, when they were joined by Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.

It is also worth noting that Coldplay have covered the Bee Gees' 1969 classic "To Love Somebody" in their live shows.

Coldplay closing Glastonbury 2016 with a Bee Gees disco megamix? It would certainly be a moment.
