Danny Brown has revealed that he is in the early stages of writing a new album, the follow up to last year's Old.

Danny teased the new record while shilling for Beats by Dre in a Vine, saying: "Shouts out to them for hooking me up with some new headphones so I can get ready to start on this new album."

His last album Old dropped in October of last year, and though it was met with a positive response from fans and critics lacked the visceral directness of 2011's XXX.

Danny has spent most of 2014 on tour, playing shows with A-Trak and opening for Eminem at Wembley Stadium in London.

In other hip-hop news, Run The Jewels became perhaps the first act to land a remix of their new album before it has even been released today, with a Kickstarter page campaigning for it to be remade using entirely cat sounds reaching its goal of $45,000.

The wonderfully stupid idea has the backing of El-P and Killer Mike, and several producers including Just Blaze will be helping recreate the beats using meows, hisses and purrs.
