Dave Chappelle ‘hops on a jet’ to visit Kanye West after social media rant
‘You are a godsend and a true friend,’ West tells Chappelle

Dave Chappelle has paid Kanye West a visit after the rapper posted a series of troubling messages on social media.
West gave Chappelle a shoutout on Twitter on Tuesday and shared a video of the two of them with a small group.
“Thank you Dave for hopping on a jet to come see me doing well,” West wrote.
“Dave you are a godsend and a true friend. All love.”
West can be heard in the video asking Chappelle to say a few words. ”Brotherhood is real. Love is real,” Chappelle says in response.
West then asks for a joke or “something to lift our spirits”, but Chappelle remarks that he’s still on his first cup of coffee – implying it’s still too early for a punchline.
“An uplifting joke? You know I don’t write them,” Chappelle adds.
West and Chappelle then exchange a hug, as West thanks the comedian for coming over.
The visit came not long after West shared a series of now-deleted tweets, including one that read: “Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughters life yesterday.”
The message appeared to be a reference to a a Sunday rally in South Carolina, during which West referenced a decision he said he and his wife Kim Kardashian made not to abort a pregnancy.
Some have expressed concerns for West's well-being. The rapper has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has publicly spoken out about the condition.
Many, including singer Halsey, have called on others to exercise compassion.
