50 Cent reviews Jay-Z's new 4:44 album: 'That sh*t was like golf course music'
'They don’t wanna hear that shit'

50 Cent has branded Jay-Z's latest record "too smart", also suggesting that people don't want to hear from the older generation of rappers anymore.
In a since-deleted Instagram video, 50 Cent said to camera: “I thought the shit was aight, you know what I’m sayin’? I liked the shit. But I’ma keep it 100: The shit was a little, the shit was too smart. I felt like I was supposed to be wearing glasses and shit, and tie a fucking sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League shit.
"I ain't got' hold you up, some of that shit was like golf course music."
Many of his peers disagree. On 30 June, Kendrick Lamar tweeted: "4:44. WOW. MASTER TEACHER."
50 cent continued in the video: "I’mma tell you the truth: Niggas hot out here.
"They don’t wanna hear that shit. They just wanna have a good time. Fuck that. You can’t be the best rapper at 47, because the new niggas is here."
Snoop Dogg made his feelings known about this last week, with a new music video appearing to parody Young Thug.
4:44 has generally gone down well with critics, though the release strategy on the album not so much.
