Grammys 2016: Kanye West to boycott unless he wins Album of the Year
'I will have over 100 Grammys before I die.'

Never mind OscarsSoWhite, Kanye West is staging his own Grammys boycott. Unless they promise him the Album of the Year gong, that is.
The rapper flooded his Twitter page with a string of messages this weekend following the release of his new album, finally named The Life of Pablo after much deliberation between three other titles: So Help Me God, Swish and Waves.
Clearly, and inevitably given his famed immodesty, Kanye reckons it is the best release of the past year and in fact, of all-time.
“I’m practicing my Grammy speech,” he wrote. “I’m not going to the Grammys unless they promise me the Album of the Year!
“I made Dark Fantasy and Watch the Throne in one year and wasn’t nominated for either…I will have over 100 Grammys before I die.”
The Life of Pablo is currently streaming on Jay Z’s Tidal or as a download from Kanye’s website. It was premiered at a special fashion event at Madison Square Garden in New York last Thursday.
The Grammys take place on Monday night with Kanye likely to attend because The Life of Pablo has already missed this year’s nominations deadline.
Come 2017, however, it had better be on that shortlist, or Yeezy will be a no-show on the star-studded red carpet. Love him or hate him, the Grammys without Kanye wouldn’t really be worth watching, would it?
