Liam Gallagher has fuelled rumours that his band Beady Eye will play a secret gig at Glastonbury this weekend.

Gallagher, who was spotted arriving at the festival earlier today, said on Twitter yesterday: “11am Friday- BE there or BE square..LG x”

The group had previously been rumoured to be playing a midday set on Saturday. But the Beady Eye Twitter account further fuelled speculation that something is happening on Friday rather than Saturday, when it posted a twitterpic that read: “Where will you be? 11am 28.06.13.”

Following Oasis’ headline performance in 2004 Gallagher famously said he would never return to play Glastonbury.

He told XFM at the time: “The sound is s*** and really quiet. You can’t hear the crowd talk while you’re playing. They don’t put any money into the PA and it’s full of f***ing idiots.”

He added: “Now it’s like Bond Street with mud, with loads of celebrities walking around in their boots and umbrellas. I’m not having it.”

Beady Eye are currently in second place at the bookies to play a secret set at Glastonbury with odds of 5/1, behind Daft Punk who are the favourites on 6/4.

The band, fronted by Liam Gallagher, have rel eased two studio albums Still Speeding (2011) and BE (2013) since they formed in 2009.
