Muse perform 'Muscle Museum' live for first time since 2007 at Exeter gig

Muse performed 'Muscle Museum' for the first time in eight years at an intimate show in Exeter.

The band are currently touring UK venues, and slipped the song – first featured on 1999’s album Showbiz – into the set on 20 March along with two songs from their upcoming new release ('Psycho' and 'Reapers').

Muse's seventh studio album Drones is due for release on 8 June.

The album's first official single, 'Dead Inside', will premiere on March 23. The 12-track LP will be released on June 8 and is the follow up to 2012's 'The 2nd Law'.

According to NME, other songs in the set for Exeter included B-Sides 'Agitated' and 'Futurism', plus 'Plug In Baby', 'Stockholm Syndrome', 'Time Is Running Out' and 'Knights of Cydonia'.

Speaking about the concept behind the band’s new album, frontman Matt Bellamy said: "The world is run by drones utilising drones to turn us all into drones. To me, drones are metaphorical psychopaths.

"This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."

The first single from Drones, 'Dead Inside', will be released on 23 March.
