A teenager has unknowingly unearthed never-before-seen photos of Nirvana’s very first gig and tweeted them.

Maggie Poukkula’s father Tony put on a show in his Washington basement in the spring of 1987 and played two Led Zeppelin tracks with the band, including Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard.

The 19-year-old stumbled across the three snaps while flicking through her dad’s Nirvana biographies but had “no idea” of the significance of them.

“My dad showed me them a while back but he never mentioned that’s what was going on in the photos,” she told Rolling Stone.

“I found out because of all the articles. I didn’t realise it was such a historical thing. I thought they were just cool pictures of my dad and Kurt jamming together .”

Of course, once Maggie posted the photos, they quickly went viral, with fans excitedly sharing them across social media.

“I can’t believe it!” she replied, and is hopefully busy hunting out some more...
