Sufjan Stevens will perform his heartbreaking, Oscar-nominated song "Mystery of Love" from the film Call Me By Your Name at this year's Academy Awards.

The acclaimed musician is one of several acts scheduled to perform on the night. Mary J Blige, Miguel, Common and Andra Day will also appear.

Stevens' song was featured prominently in the film's trailer, and the accompanying music video also featured several clips from key scenes.

The artist has released nine studio albums and a variety of singles and collaborations via his own label Asthmatic Kitty over the past 17 years.

Speaking to Vanity Fair about his Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, Stevens revealed he has "never watched the Oscars" but felt "so proud of the film".

"I'm honoured to be affiliated with a director [Luca Guadagnino] who is so masterful and astute," he added.

Stevens' fellow nominees for the Best Original Song Oscar are Common and Diane Warren with their track "Stand for Something"; "This Is Me" by Justin Paul and Benj Pasek; "Remember Me (Ernesto de la Cruz)" by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez; and "Might River" by Mary J. Blige, Raphael Saadiq and Taura Stinson.

The Oscars take place on Sunday 4 March at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood - make sure you follow The Independent's live coverage on the night
