Ozzy Osbourne fans left in the dark as UK tour is still not officially cancelled

Black Sabbath frontman’s tour is due to begin on Friday (23 October) and is still listed on his website

Ozzy Osbourne’s fans have been “left in the dark” over the status of his forthcoming UK tour.

The Black Sabbath frontman was due to begin his No More Tours 2 shows in Newcastle this Friday (23 October), with seven dates in the UK and Ireland still listed on his website along with events in Europe later in the year.

But despite both support act Judas Priest and Osbourne’s wife Sharon stating that the tour has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, ticketholders haven’t been given any confirmation.

As a result, they are unsure whether they will be able to gain refunds for the show.

“It's not fair to keep people in the dark,” fan Gregor McCormick told BBC News. “It's ridiculous. They need to keep people up to date.”

He continued: “We haven't had any definitive ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Obviously in our own minds, with Covid-19, we know this is not going ahead. But people have spent hundreds of pounds. Not giving us information is absolutely diabolical.”

Osbourne’s tour is currently the only music event of 2020 still listed under the arenas’ show listings, with tickets still available to buy.

The tour has been pushed back a number of times after the musician, 71, developed pneumonia and suffered a serious fall last year.

In February, he was forced to cancel his North American tour completely due to his health, after revealing that he is undergoing treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

Speaking of the disease, which affects nerves in the body, Osbourne said: “Everyone thinks I’ve just discovered the Parkinson’s. I’ve known about the Parkinson’s since 2003.

“It’s just been f***ing hell... I paid for all the years that got away from me.”
