Rio 2016: This majestic horse that danced to Santana's 'Smooth' deserves all the Olympic medals

It was just like the ocean, under a hoof

Equestrian dressage is an inherently ridiculous (come @ me) but incredibly entertaining Olympic staple, a chance to see magnificent horses cantering jauntily to mid-2000s top 40 hits.

Spanish rider Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez's horse Lorenzo is a particular fan of holiday dad anthem 'Smooth' by Santana, and cut some serious moves to it in Rio this week.

If that wasn't enough, he then brought the thing home to Bon Jovi's 'It's My Life', appropriate given Jon Bon Jovi is set to have written it from the perspective of an ultra-competitive horse musing on the nature of mortality and the need to seize the day.

Criminally, the Spanish entry didn't get a medal, the judges deeming a horse dancing to Smooth only the fifth best performance of the day.

Team GB, if you're listening, I could definitely go for a Darude routine at Tokyo 2020.
