Sir Elton John, Kinks star Ray Davies and Elvis Costello will top the bill at a new outdoor summer festival in London's Hyde Park.

They will be part of a celebration of British songwriters which also includes Nick Lowe, Del Amitri's Justin Currie and Thea Gilmore on Friday July 12.

The artists will be taking the stage for the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park events which also feature performances by Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones.

Tickets for the 12 July show go on sale on Thursday and further headliners are still to be announced.

Rob Hallett of promoter AEG Live said: "Imagine how many hits you are going to hear between Elton, Ray and Elvis - this one's a real treat."
