Creator of viral ‘Dreams’ TikTok to take part in Biden’s virtual inauguration parade
Clip of Nathan Apodaca skateboarding while listening to Fleetwood Mac went viral last year
A TikTokker who went viral after sharing a video of himself skateboarding to Fleetwood Mac will appear in Joe Biden’s virtual inauguration parade.
Nathan Apodaca became an internet sensation last year after a video of him skateboarding to work while drinking cranberry juice and listening to “Dreams” blew up online.
The video was recreated by everyone from Kyle MacLachlan to Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks themselves, with “Dreams” reentering the charts in the UK and US thanks to the clip.
Now, TMZ reports that Apodaca will appear in Biden’s inauguration parade, which takes place after the president-elect is sworn into office on Wednesday (20 January).
With coronavirus regulations preventing large groups from congregating, the parade will be a virtual event featuring the stories and talents of people from across the US.
Members of Biden’s inauguration planning team reached out to Apodaca after they saw how his TikTok clip uplifted people during a time of unrest.
The internet personality has already filmed his footage for the event, with a representative confirming to The Independent that he would be taking part.
Apodaca was living in an RV with no running water at the time of filming the TikTok, but was able to purchase a five-bedroom house in Idaho after the video went viral.
