Got a summer pop longing? You could do worse than this small chapter in the history of the girl group.

Fans of psychedelic cowboy Lee Hazlewood will already be slavering. For this is a camp dream of late-60s pop "perfection", in which girlish voices are pitchy but artistic, the arrangements are plush, the vision is Hollywood and inverted commas are everywhere. A sense of irony? You'll need it. Oh baby.
