Haines' ongoing obsession with the half-remembered 1970s (previous topics: Gary Glitter, Baader-Meinhof, the Black Panthers) continues with a "rock opera in the key of existential misery" about the World of Sport grapple-fests of his childhood.

Haines imagines the intertwining narratives and inner monologues of Giant Haystacks, Mick McManus and all, rendered in deliciously evocative minor-chord melodies. It's half George Harrison, half Keith West.
