Django Reinhardt meets Hank B Marvin in guitarist Taylor's beautifully detailed, high-gloss contemporary version of gypsy jazz.
Reconvening his successful 1990s band (of Renault's "Papa et Nicole" ads fame) in celebration of Reinhardt's centenary year, Taylor touches on smooth jazz, retro-lounge, instrumental pop and nostalgic vocals but such is the sureness of his touch, the skills of the band (including Alan Barnes on reeds and Jack Emblow on accordion) and the catchiness of the tunes that you can't help but submit.
