Afro-Cuban pianist Fonseca is one of the biggest new stars in jazz, and this live CD & DVD combo shows why.

There are great tunes drawn from his two studio albums, and it doesn't hurt that he looks cool, or that his well-established band proves such an effective foil. But the real interest lies in the dialogue between Fonseca's already heavily percussive piano style and the drummer Ramses Rodriguez. One still hopes that after this excellent summary of its talents, Fonseca now breaks up the band and does something new.
