Fraggle Rock: Apple TV+ unveils reboot of iconic children’s TV show shot on iPhones
New episodes to be unveiled every Tuesday
Fraggle Rock, the iconic Eighties children’s TV show, is getting a revival on Apple TV+.
The streaming service announced on Tuesday that it would bring back the programme in a special reboot.
Fraggle Rock: Rock On! is shot on iPhones from the homes of producers and artists “from all over the US” – in accordance to social distancing measures during the coronavirus pandemic.
“The beloved stars of the classic Eighties series — Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley and Uncle Traveling Matt — join together again for new stories and classic Fraggle songs that show everyone how we are all connected through friendship,” reads Apple’s description of the programme.
“While the Fraggles might be in different parts of the Fraggle Rock caves, they can still find ways to have fun together, with music, silliness, special guests, and of course the help of devices created by the industrious Doozers — lovingly called the Doozertubes!”
New mini episodes will be made available for free on Apple TV+ every Tuesday.
The first one, titled “Shine On!” is available to stream now.
Fraggle Rock, created by the late Jim Henson, originally aired from 1983 to 1987.
