Terence Rattigan's vindication as a playwright of emotional intelligence, elegant wit, and a gift for expressive construction continues with Lindsay Posner's consummately acted production.

This is about a father's fight to clear the name of his 14-year old son, expelled as a cadet from the Royal Naval College for allegedly stealing a five-shilling postal order.

The play measures the human price (and financial cost) to the family of the battle against Establishment injustice.

Henry Goodman magnificently registers the father's anguish, while Deborah Findlay is on glorious form as the mother. A quietly thrilling evening.
