Rev

10pm, BBC2

Back (at last) for a third series, Tom Hollander’s beleaguered cleric Adam Smallbone and wife Alex (Olivia Colman) are now the parents of a baby daughter, but the finances of St Saviour’s are still threadbare.

Enter two welcome additions – played by Getting On’s Joanna Scanlan and Vicki Pepperdine – an area dean and diocesan secretary intent on shutting down Adam’s church. Can an ecumenical church fête, shared by the go-ahead imam of a nearby mosque (and played by Kayvan Novak) save the day?

The Great NHS Robbery - Panorama

8.30pm, BBC1

A shocking report if proved true. Fiona Walker investigates allegations that the NHS is losing billions every year to fraudsters – enough to employ 330,000 new nurses.

Silk

9pm, BBC1

Martha (Maxine Peake) is asked to defend an ex-boyfriend who's on trial for a gangland killing.

The Michael McIntyre Chat Show

10.35pm, BBC1

So now we know – Graham Norton needn’t be fearing for his job. The bouncy Michael McIntyre doesn’t cut the chat-show mustard in my book as he shoots the breeze with Joanna Lumley and Tinie Tempah.

The Plantagenets

9pm, BBC2

Robert Bartlett (left) continues his clear and engaging account of England’s longest-reigning dynasty with the pious, baron-bullied Henry II and the Welsh and Scottish-bashing Edward I.
