American Horror Story: Murder House and Coven crossover season announced
'It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre'
American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy loves to tease fans; whether it comes to the twists yet in store for the rest of Roanoke, or what may lie ahead for the anthology series.
While attending EW's PopFest, Ryan Murphy dropped a bombshell when it came to American Horror Story's future. We've always known the rather disparate settings of each season still exist within the same universe, thanks to crossover characters like Billie Dean Howard, Pepper, Queenie, and even Roanoke's revival of the Mott family.
Having already mentioned a future revisit to the show's third season Coven, as linked to Lady Gaga's Roanoke role, Murphy further revealed it would actually directly link to another of the show's seasons as an official crossover.
"We do know what we’re going to do," Murphy revealed. "It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre."
Murphy then clarified, "There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together"; which, unsurprisngly, drove the panel's audience absolutely wild with possibility - especially if that entails the possibility of fan-favourites Connie Britton and Jessica Lange making their grand returns.
However, Murphy also confirmed the crossover will not take place during the show's seventh season, largely because of difficulties with scheduling such huge names to come into to the frame. "I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, 'I think in this window, if you could fit us in,'" he continued. "So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird."
