Big Night In: Coronation Street’s Liz McDonald crashes EastEnders sketch
Liz McDonald crashed the Queen Vic’s virtual pub quiz
The cast of EastEnders had their virtual reunion interrupted by a Coronation Street star during last night’s Big Night In fundraiser.
The two soaps came together in a scene for the Comic Relief and Children in Need coronavirus fundraiser, which saw the residents of Walford gather together for a virtual Queen Vic pub quiz.
With Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) in charge of organising the event over Zoom, he was quickly joined by a cast of EastEnders characters, including Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy).
However, things went astray when an unfamiliar face joined the cast, with Coronation Street’s Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) accidentally dropped in.
“I think I might be in the wrong video chat,” Liz said, asking: “Is this the virtual quiz night for the Rovers Return?”
Realising that she was speaking to a group of Londoners, Liz chastised Linda for serving expensive pints, to which the Queen Vic landlady responded: “Get out of my virtual pub, you’re barred.”
Broadcast last night (23 April), the Big Night In saw virtual cast reunions for Little Britain, Doctor Who and The Vicar of Dibley, along with guest appearances from Peter Kay and the Duke of Cambridge.
More than £27 million was raised for the coronavirus relief fund during the three hour telethon, with the government pledging to match the total.
