The Book of Boba Fett: Mandalorian post-credits scene teased brand new series, Disney reveals
Spin-off show to be released in place of new Mandalorian episodes
Disney has officially announced a brand new Mandalorian spin-off.
Days after the Disney+ series’ shock ending, which saw the “amazing” return of two original Star Wars characters, it’s been revealed that Boba Fett will take centre stage in his own show.
Disney announced the news via the official Twitter page of The Mandalorian.
This news comes after a post-credits scene showed the character, played by Temuera Morrison, taking over the criminal operation once led by Jabby the Hutt and subsequently his second-in-command Bib Fortuna.
The scene ends with Boba taking Jabba’s old throne with his accomplice, Fennic Shand (Ming-Na- Wen), seated by his side.
Now, the pair will front their own series titled The Book of Boba Fett, which is being executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez.
The series will be released in December in place of a third season of The Mandalorian.
Following the scene, fans excitedly speculated about a potential Boba Fett spin-off.
It’s one of 11 brand new Star Wars projects to be released over the next two years – find the full list of others here.
