Netflix UK got a particularly timely addition today in the form of Doomsday Bunkers, a show about people getting ready for the apocalypse.

Popular source of Netflix comers and goers @NewOnNetflixUK happened to tweet out the show’s arrival this morning, and mournful Remain voters were quick to jump on it in light of the UK's decision to leave the EU.

The show’s synopsis is: ‘As the leader of Deep Earth Bunker, Scott Bales builds one-of-a-kind bunkers for eccentric clients who are preparing for the end of the world.’

“Might get him to build me one after today's result!” one user wrote, with others adding: “Irony as she is scheduled” and “Seems oddly appropriate”.

In an act of sheer desperation, a petition has been filed for a second EU referendum, claiming the first was too close given the turnout. It is proving so popular that government site it appears on has crashed.
