The BBC has teased its Christmas specials in a new trailer.

Fresh from revealing its Christmas Day schedule last week, the BBC's teaser gives a first look at some of the shows due to be shown on 25 December including Doctor Who, Strictly Come Dancing, Call the Midwife and Mrs Brown’s Boys.

The teaser also offers a glimpse at some of the broadcaster’s new drama commissions for the Christmas period.

Dame Judi Dench is seen in her role as Mrs Silver in the adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot, while Anna Chancellor appears in the teaser in the revival of Eighties comedy Mapp and Lucia.

There is also footage of David Walliams’ latest film The Boy in a Dress, starring Kate Moss and Meera Syal, and Harry Hill’s The Incredible Adventures of Professor Branestawm.

The Doctor’s companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) can also be seen giving Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord a kiss in the Doctor Who Christmas special.
