Chronicles of Narnia: Coco writer Matthew Aldrich to oversee new Netflix adaptation
It will include multiple films and a TV series

The screenwriter of Oscar-winning film Coco will take charge of Netflix’s new live-action Chronicles of Narnia offering.
Matthew Aldrich will oversee the streaming service’s multi-year project, which will include multiple films and a TV series.
Mark Gordon, producer of the most recent Narnia films, is attached to executive produce for Netflix. “Narnia is one of those rare properties that spans multiple generations and geographies,” he said. “We cannot wait to get started on the multiple productions we hope to undertake.”
The Netflix deal marks the first time one company has had the rights to all seven of the Narnia books: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Magician’s Nephew, and The Last Battle.
No release date for the project has been announced yet.
Day of the dead-inspired movie Coco won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 90th award ceremony earlier this year.
It also won a BAFTA and a Golden Globe under the same awards category.
