Doctor Who series 8: Sanjeev Bhaskar joins cast as guest star for finale
The comedian will appear in the next run's last episode in an unknown role
Comedian Sanjeev Bhaskar has been lined up for a guest star spot in the eighth series of sci-fi drama Doctor Who.
The 50-year-old actor will appear in the finale but details of his character are being kept under wraps.
“I’m thrilled to have made a small contribution to and now be part of the Doctor Who universe,” he said. “Another dream box ticked!”
Showrunner Steven Moffat added that he is also “thrilled” by Bhaskar’s casting.
“The danger is never deadlier than in a finale episode and the Time Lord is going to need all the help he can get!” he hinted.
Moffat has written the finale which will see the revival of iconic monsters The Cybermen.

Capaldi will take over from Matt Smith as the twelfth Time Lord and is expected to offer a darker and more mature twist on the classic role.
The series is scheduled to premiere on BBC One on 23 August, with a special screening planned in Cardiff three weeks earlier.
Anticipation for the new episodes has been rife with two brief trailers teasing a dramatic storyline.
Earlier this week, the BBC apologised after five scripts were leaked online following a security issue "where unfinished material was inadvertently made public".
